It is threadless all the way up and uses additional spacers from the top of the stem to the bottom of the adapter so it appears to be threadless. It is made to attach to a standard yoke the same as your current handlebars attach. The aluminum is polished so that the anodization looks painted on.
It is an inexpensive way to raise your bars and allows for multiple height adjustments.
