The Ge appliances wb4k1 range/stove/oven door gasket prevents heat from escaping when the door is closed. It fits into a channel that goes around the outer edge of the door. It is perfectly well but it must be installed according to instructions which means dismantling the oven door.
The diameter of the round part is approximately one half inch that goes around the oven door and has no clips just a flat lip. It installs relatively easily (given the assembly/dissassembly of the oven door on this old oven) and appears to be just the right fit. This seal is meant to fit in a groove to hold it.
