It does struggle with some very thick paints from Turbo Dork, but has worked great for Citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter, and System 3 inks. There is a sleeve around the inner dimple that is metal and has to push straight down to turn the unit on, if it's pushed a little off center it won't work and if it slides off center while in use it stops.
