Best Overall: Pearl Izumi Good Glove

Pearl Izumi Good Glove

These gloves are just regular gloves, pulling requires grabbing a finger and yanking, not as quick & easy as the tab is. The value packed select glove has strategically placed gel. The palm heel pad is off to the side and the thumb pad is very low on the hand, meaning that the parts of the hand that grasp the bar have no padding. The padding is adequate and not too much. The cushions are soft, squishy, and well-positioned.

The gloves are also well made and very durable. They fit nicely (not too tight) and seem to have padding in just the right places to help prevent numb hands on long rides. The gloves are a nice balance because they lightweight yet still have some significant padding.

Why We Like This:
  • Ergonomic and combat hand fatigue well
  • Great for comfort and grip, but don't protect nerves
  • Light weight but still has enough padding
  • Great fingerless bicycling gloves for temperatures above 15 c or so

Best For Mountain: Pearl Izumi Good Cool Weather Riding Glove

It is perfect for all but the coldest of weather. It is perfect for spring and fall, the unisex thermal lite gloves are ideal as a lightweight cool weather glove or layered in cold conditions as a liner in colder conditions. The gloves are comfortable light and breathable but the grey grip pads will rub off with minimal perturbation. The wrist "collar" on the gloves also doesn't go very far up your arm, so, when cycling, it allows cold air to enter your jacket sleeve.

These are great for fall/spring outdoor activities such as running and hiking. They aren't waterproof but dry quickly. There is no padding as with most bike gloves.

Why We Like This:
  • Works well as cool weather cycling gloves
  • Great for riding bike down to about 50 degrees
  • Very nice semi cold weather gloves
  • Perfect for near-freezing winter mornings in arizona
