This ink is a stunning colour, beautiful, soothing to write with and exactly the right consistency. It protects both fountain pen and nib. It comes in different types, weights (thicknesses), porosities (absorbencies), textures (finishes), and qualities. The blue color is so bright and even and really pops off of the paper. It is good colors for writing on their own right.

The brown is lush and bright, not dark and there's no mistaking it for brown. It's also very translucent.
