The petzl core rechargeable battery should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. It's actually adequate lighting for running gravel roads if you only need to spot potholes or spiderwebs. It flips easily between low, medium and high and the red beam is a nice feature. It has a luminescent glow to it after you turn it off. It does not carry too far and doesn't cast too wide of a area, making it suitable for closer vision needs.
The light unit is light enough that it doesn't feel awkward or top heavy. It will also glow in the dark around the light with a ring, making it easy to find or see once the light goes off.

We would, of course, be remiss if we didn't mention petzl another headlamp for regular usage. If you are worried about shadows you might want a waist light too but this is pretty awesome for the money. The light has three settings low, medium, and high. It has multiple brightness settings. It has a glow in the dark ring on it that glows after the light is turned off. The light is bright, quite bright on the high setting. It even comes with Duracell batteries. This lamp also has 3 brightness features, the highest will of course run the battery life quicker, but you may still have some light left after that even on the lowest setting. It is good for night bed readers.

If you often find yourself confused about convenient and suitable battery, this product is your solution. This is a sleek head torch. It is great for running at night, super light weight. Its phosphorescent reflector makes it easy to find in the dark and red lighting keeps you from blinding those around you. When the light is off, it has a cool glow in the dark ring feature so that you can find it in the dark if needed.
The high setting is so bright you could serve as a beacon for f-18's to land on an aircraft carrier, at night, in the bering sea. It is brighter and no more pops. The strap holds are smartly positioned. It is far better than a sewing light.
