There are two LEDs and they take two internally but would even be four externally because they used optical plastics to carry the light to the side even though it's clear, but since it's clear they also come out the top too. The receiver blinks green when it isn't matched to the controller however when you turn the controller switch to on the sync happens very quickly and both the controller and receiver show a solid green light to indicate pairing and such. These are easy to connect, and they will automatically turn themselves off to save battery life if you leave your playstation for a while.
There is no delay between the contoller and the screen. These are inexpensive and as such probably use the same transmitter and receiver in each remote getting signals mixed if both are powered on at the same time.
