These seals are so inexpensive and not hard to replace, just stick to OE and buy these if you need them. They’re quality seals, preparation is key for the life of these. This seal goes on the outer side of the axle shaft. It fits around the edge additionally has the 8.5" 10 bolt rear end. The bearings do need to be packed with grease.
It is easy to install using a block of wood and a 3lb sledgehammer to *gently* pound them into place. The corresponding bearing is a roller bearing that is lubricated by the gear oil.
