The rhythm band popular diatonic combined desk bell handbell's material feels more premium than its price would suggest. It is a really wonderful set of diatonic handbells/deskbells. These are a little loud but they sound beautiful. They also have both the pitch and the number on each one so that children can associate the letter names and order of notes in the octave. The notes sound clear and the box they come in are good for storing.
These handbells can produce surprisingly loud rings, and sometimes they can be a little pain inducing for sensitive ears. It allows teachers and paras to help students play hand-over-hand. The pitches are tuned right and the handbells sound good in ensembles with other instruments. These will make a fun addition to holiday celebrations.
Why We Like This:
Beautiful tone, nicely made, appropriate for children and adults
Great for all students-with and without disabilities
Delightful product/instrument to use with kindergarten, primary age children

If you want nothing but a handbell that is reliable, this rhythm band rhythm handbell is certainly a right investment. These bells have a very nice sound. They have to be ring with a strong motion, so they are louder than tinkling bells. The handles are plastic and in order to get a good ring you need to hold the bell with your thumb on the plastic square that also carries the labeled note/number and basically throw your arm forward. The shaft that holds the clapper is quite rigid. It takes a sharp snapping motion to cause the bell to ring.
These bells are a little difficult to ring and the handles are plastic and tapered with no significant shape to ensure a true grip. The color is beautiful and they sound really nice.
