Best Overall: Ring new Camera

The light is a must have addition for your daily purpose. The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro adds support for 3D Motion Detection, Audio+, Bird’s Eye View, HDR and dual-band Wi-Fi. It features a wider vertical field of view, brighter floodlights and louder sirene. The range of the camera is excellent as it captures persons coming up and down the stoop and into the gate. If you have an existing exterior light, it’s really easy to hardwire.

The Ring App allows you to “see” at a pretty decent radius without having to adjust the camera. Whenever there's an event or when it detects something is moving, it activates the recording and saves it as a clip for you to view. The motion sensitivity is super quick for the lights to pop on. This is very easy to put up.

Why We Like This:
  • Integrates well with the ring system
  • You can adjust multiple settings on the camera-device scheduling, motion snooze, motion zones, etc
  • Excellent colorized night vision, super sensitive motion detection, and strong connection to wifi

Best system: Ring Motion sensor

This onerous Ring requirement intentionally prevents storage on a personal device. It includes built-in ultra-bright floodlights and a siren. The camera has night vision and shows the entire driveway clearly in the pitch dark. It has lumen LED bulbs that have a 3, 000K color temperature and are roughly equivalent to 100W. The image is bright even in low light and crisp. All the settings are controlled through the app, so unlike a standard flood light, you can adjust the sensitivities from inside, rather than at night.

The Ring floodlight camera works great doesn't use too much bandwidth, can be configured to turn on with different zones, operated remotely and includes options for live audio, video, light control and an alarm. It is great as long as it receives sunlight 8-10 a day.

Why We Like This:
  • Light comes on when motion is detected as expected
  • Very good motion detection too sensitive
  • New and hot release

Best Battery life: Ring path Light

It is great lights to light up pathways and landscaping. The Pathlight installs in minutes with a wire-free design to illuminate your pathway, entryway, or sidewalk. It looks perfect and from far away not as large as when held. Each light comes with a piece of paper that contains the QR code so its easy to set up. It comes with a very sturdy stake that just goes in the ground. The motion sensor could use better range detection as its very sensitive even at the lowest setting.

It is neat to see them all light up in succession to light the path to your door if that is the way you want them configured.

Why We Like This:
  • You can load up 6 ring pathway lights in one install
  • Very responsive motion detection light system
  • Ring is great, expand your system over time, simple to add devices
  • Helps keep wildlife away in the middle of night

Best With other Ring cameras: Ring HD Camera

The lights on this floodlight model are yellow, while the lights on the Spotlight Cam Wired are DAYLIGHT. It works in conjunction with the ring doorbell and doorbell can be set to record when motion is detected. They stay on for a few minutes then turn off. They need to be smaller as you have to tuck them inside the outlet underneath the mounting bracket for the Ring light. It can be motion activated or turned on with an app on your phone or alexa. It won’t leave you in the dark.

It is easy to set up and stays on for a reasonable amount of time.

Why We Like This:
  • Must have a clean wifi signal or use as door stop
  • Motion sensing (even on high) can be spotty from time to time
  • Bright lights that can be easily adjusted
  • Must have for your ring security system

Best For sidewalks: Ring extra Light

The Ring Spotlight is a light only and no integral camera. This unit runs on 4 cell batteries. The motion sensor works fine, too. The light triggers every time a car goes down the street but does nothing when someone walks up the driveway. This light has a motion sensor and when activated sends a signal back to the system telling you it is activated by motion. It is super easy to set up. The Ring app has a Dusk to Dawn feature that will have the lights glow softly when the sun goes down and turn off when it comes back up.

Why We Like This:
  • Installing on a wall/building is easy with the provided mounting screws
  • Works perfectly with ring family of products
  • Bright and efficient and the ability to control the light with an app

The ring back door light is the best desirable product on the market today. These lights use rechargeable CR123 lithium ion batteries. It features, such as mobile notifications and customizable settings. It also makes it easy to see if there's someone at the door at night. It's almost nonstop motion detection during the day.

The smart light features (with the Ring Lighting Bridge) allow for the Steplight to send motion alerts. It comes with this schedule, they operate in a dim mode to save battery but fade up to your set brightness when motion is detected. There is a brightness setting bar but it won't completely shut off the light even if it is all the way down. It's easy to remove from their mounting brackets and recharge.

Why We Like This:
  • Nice programmable solar step and patio lighting
  • Consistently detect motion and go on in unison
  • Setting that increases to bright light when motion is detected
  • Design is nice, works well with app
