The Ring lights use the ZWave network protocol, so theoretically each light acts as a repeater to form an ad hoc mesh network and extend the wireless range. The solar light runs on one battery that is recharged either with sunlight or you can actually pull the top part off and recharge using the micro usb. They detect motion and work well to light up when they see someone. The dim mode allows you to see the light to know where to go to trigger the motion detector that will turn the lights on, however it does not throw off enough light to enhance or highlight plantings and the like.

The light only work with the Ring and there is no cross-integration capability for Home Assistant even though it is on its own hub. It is great for an extra warning system, and works great with Alexa. The motion sensitivity is adjustable in 5 steps.
