It has the best balance of vocals with all the instruments being played, plus Michael's excellent drum solo. The first five tracks slip you away into a bliss of jam-filled guitar-riff eurphora. This is a great intro into one of the worlds greatest bands of all time Santana.

This CD contains 77 minutes of music along with 16 outstanding songs. It is easy to enjoy wherever and whenever. This album does not include hits from Santana's recent pop revival with albums like Supernatural and Shaman. The sound quality is excellent.

This album has great Jam type songs such as Soul Sacrifice and Jingo, as well as great commercial songs like Evil Ways. The icing on the cake is the three bonus tracks from Santana's electrifying Woodstock performance, a performance that shot the band into national prominence and deservedly so.

A very powerful piece of music, the newly remastered album also contains 3 tracks recorded at the original Woodstock, including "Soul Sacrifice", which was one of the biggest highlights of the festival. The Spectral balance on this CD is neutral so those who hate bright recordings for the sake of artificial air and detail will be pleased with this one.

The santana great album should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. The style of music at times resembles Al Dimeola's great albums Casino and Elegant Gypsy. It is a brash collection of old and new, live and studio genious that carlos captures beautifully. Not only does it have the latino groove of the more popular tunes (black magic woman), but also contains some soul searching solos and intricate percussion ( see Flor D'Luna), that makes Santana such a suberb crossover from Jazz to classic rock and vice versa.

These typically range from jams that fade into classics such as "Black Magic Woman" to flat out screaming latin rock like "Soul Sacrifice. It evokes many bittersweet memories and images. It is almost like a guitar duel and it is nice and long with two virtuoso's at work. This will certainly be pulled from the shelf often as it continues to grow on you the more you play it.
