Hal Leonard Corp has been making good-quality book for years, thanks to a combination of clever design and high-end materials. This book is a must have for anyone new or wanting to learn to play the saxophone. It offers beginning students sound pedagogy and engaging music, all carefully paced to successfully start young players on their musical journey. It includes in the book everything you need to know to get started and take care of your instrument. Whether you are young, middle, or old, this is a great tool or companion piece for learning or getting your chops back in action. It comes with CD for kids to play along, too. It is certainly a cheaper and easier way to start off on the saxophone. The songs sound cheesy, but the musical accompaniment helps. It is perfect for an absolute beginner.

Next on the list, we've got yet another book that manages to win our hearts. It's the nw hovey saxophone method book and it's widely considered as book that has the most suitable features. This one sticks to the basics, with a good approach to teaching the mechanics of the instrument and about playing rhythmically. It's not a quick start band method like essential elements (which is a good book in it's own way) but it teaches the principals and gives the student a firm foundation. It does not clutter the page with images or unnecessary information. This is a good book for a refresher.
This is a great starter book for those just starting out or for those (like myself) who are just picking up the saxophone after a few years. It is a good way to start learning music if you're serious about doing so. This book will not teach you to play any of the exercises that it contains.

The h voxman saxophone method book should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. The book is legit and is a great book for people that want to improve their skills with intonation, tone, tonguing, you name it. It puts all rhythms that you would see in music in these little etudes and really narrows it down for you. It's an excellent tool for those looking to start playing again and familiarize themselves with different styles of playing.
The scale studies, articulation exercizes and melodic interpretation studies are in different areas so you need to jump around, but it is a minor inconvenience. This is a very well put together training aid that progressively aids the learner to a high proficiency. The technical work in this particular book would even help a seasoned player touch up their technique. It can be used for self instruction, but really should be accompanied by at least a lesson here or there.
