The sega best sonic game's material feels more premium than its price would suggest. It represents not only the pinnacle of the series, but the pinnacle of 2D gaming in general. The improvements and upgrades are truly what catapaulted this game into the same league as Mario and Zelda. The almost-as-good Sonic & Knuckles would continue to elaborate on Sonic's gameplay, but this is still where Sega achieved absolute perfection.

This game has very detailed backgrounds and challenging bosses, unique music and 3 new shields, and much, much more. There are also different types of shields, the best one being the lightning shield, which makes collecting rings much easier. The new bosses are harder, the levels are longer, and the whole game just rocks.

The end boss music is the best, it starts out sounding menacing and doomsdayish, then speeds up, then has a very positive "you can do it at all." The new bosses are so BIG and expansive that you can easily get lost in some of them, though there is always some sort of path to keep you on track.

The Return Of The Ninja Master is an outstanding Sega Genesis game, easily a top 10 game in the entire Sega Genesis library. The third game in the shinobi series is the most ambitious of the trilogy and introduces many new game mechanics. It feels great to hack and slash through hordes of enemies with your ninja reflexes. The stages on horse-back and a jet powered surf board add more variety to the gameplay.

The game is definitely a bit easier than the punishing difficulty of shinobi ii, but the later stages will require practice to successfully navigate. With revolutionary graphics and the flow of the controls, this game takes the cake. The levels are very long and graphics are colorful.

It's a dull, unenjoyable slog of a level that really has no business in a Streets of Rage game. There are tracks that sound like nothing but classic SOR music such as the song Moon, and Poets. This is what makes it a superior game.

Another very different aspect of this SOR3 is the music, its very high tempo and has some rather odd time signatures, particularly on the song cycle, and fuze. The soundtrack is on par with sor2 (10/10) and this game blows its predecessors away. The characters and enemies move faster, the combat and gameplay is faster, even the soundtrack is faster compared to the 2nd game. This game is also one of the best walkthrough action beat-them-up style game ever made. The amount of moves avaliable to each character has been upgraded as well.

The gameplay here is your standard, old school rpg fare, buy some weapons, and kill some enemies to gain experience. The story itself is good, albeit it does have it's moments of awkward translations from the English localization team. This gives you more stories, more endings, etc. The gameplay like the others is great, the caves are always changing, and your freedom to roam spans over 7 worlds.
