The Shure wireless mics are awesome units, but their handles are thicker than normal SM58 mics. It is made of a sturdy plastic that doesn't feel flimsy or brittle. It does not eliminate all handling noise. The Shure a55 m shock mount microphone clip reduces transmission of mechanical noise and vibration by more than 20 decibels. It fits SM57 and other similar body size microphones.

It's not too big to look awkward and still fits in the mic case. It is great to remove thuds and bumps. This is a convenient and effective tool for two of the most common microphones out there (the 57 and 58), made by the same manufacturer, but it is not a universal shockmount.

The clip part of this mount grasps the stand adapter / xlr part of the mic well, but the coles weighs about 2.5 pounds. It's good for very heavy mics. The switch fits perfectly between the clamping pieces and is also still accessible.

The quality of this product is decent and once you figure out how it works, it's easy enough to put a microphone in and take it out. There's a fairly large padding area where it doesn't grip the stem, but still prevents the body from getting closer to the grip. It comes with a normal sized mic, so you won't have any issues.
