It's the perfect learner and fun board. It's really wide and great for beginners, and the design is also really nice. It's great board for learning to surf even with a dented nose. The part that connects to the board is designed with thin rope that runs through a sort-of metal grommet, and the rope would frequently wrap around the grommet and leash in such a way that it would shorten to about a foot long. It can be thrown around without breaking easily.

This is a great board for the money and is a good way to see if you're into surfing enough to drop $$$ on a batter board.
