The spirograph classic should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. The mandala stencils are kind of cute. It comes with it's own embellished pad of paper, 5 perfect colored pens, 2 large circles with the stencils around them and small circle for smaller spirals. It is nice that it has a paper holding frame but the whole thing is a little large for travel. It is a perfect combination of art and mathematics to create beautiful designs.

There is a frame that holds paper securely (standard letter size) and has marks and cogs to match up the stencils in perfectly spaced intervals around your mandala. It comes in a box with an end flap that opens that makes it kind of hard to slide the whole kit back into the box for storage. It is easy to use and very giftable. The real charm is in the original elements of the Spirograph, and it still takes skill and patience to make the designs. It is perfect for a lazy weekend or wind-down time after school.
