It has several functions as long as the shape is similar to the Stanley CT100 or Arrow T-25 series 3/8 "9/16" cable clamps. It's the lever on the very back of the handle. It's a great staple gun, as long as you get the correct model.

The staple gun will work with tacking low voltage wires. It does take a few staples to get used to the best angle to hold it at to get perfect penetration but once you have that down you are off to the races.
