The focus of the beam is very good for a small light such as this, and is usable to clearly identify what is in front of you out to about 35 or 40 yards.

The light is specific to the weapon. Durability is excellent, but battery life is somewhat low, as lumens diminish rapidly once the battery begins to drain past 50% life. It would also recommend finding a holster on the front end so that your holster, firearm, and light all work together well.
