The gertmatthias tabla book is satisfactory and appropriate and fits well with your regular usage. This is an excellent book that is well written and well demonstrated. There are 2 CDs that come with the book that have various exercises and compositions. The notation system is unique and initially non-intuitive, especially for compositions that are not easily divided into 4's. These are played very clearly and at a reasonable speed by the author.
