Each volume features annotations from relevant characters in the "Star Wars" universe, which makes them appear like living documents. This book is geared at the Star Wars fans but it is really a beautiful book of concept art for anyone who enjoys movies, production design, costume design, character design, or sci-fi art. It helps set up the excitement of what's to follow very nicely.

The art spans the entire Star Wars universe. It often only has one image per two pages (and lots of blank space around) and no commentary or notes. The paintings are beautiful, standard and varies, but mostly look great. This book is very nicely made and presented in a wide format enabling the illustrations to be reproduced at a decent size. It's very eye popping, and give a sense of awe in much of their work to highlight their ideas.
