The athlon optics the look optic's material feels more premium than its price would suggest. The focal plane design allows you to fully utilize specially designed reticles that shrink or grow along with your target as you zoom in or out. The angle and windage knobs are solid with audible and tactile solid clicks when you turn them. The adjustments stay adjusted if you use good rings. The Glass is clear, no blurring around the outter edges. The scope loses a little bit of clarity at higher magnifications beyond 18 to 20.
The elevation and windage knobs are solid with audible and tactile solid clicks when you turn them. The Precision zero stop system allows you to return to your zero position and dial back to it with a sharp and precise stop right at your zero location. The illumination is also quite nice, making use at dawn or dusk much easier. Why We Like This:
- Handles the power of the cartridge very well with no issues
- Controls are positive and easy to use
- Turrets are sharp and crisp, audible
Vortex The look optic

The vortex the look optic is satisfactory and appropriate and fits well with your regular usage. This optic has really nice glass, a good reticule with bdc and is compact for the 5x zoom. It is built for holdovers out to 650 yards while offering 12 brightness settings. It includes a ton of mounts with their optics but the vortex only includes the lower 1/3 and a low mount. It is easy to use with both eyes open.
This is a fixed magnification optic. It is not designed for long distances but it works great for short distances of 25 up to max 50 yards. The light level buttons do have a distinctive "click" when pushed, so you won't have to guess if you turn on the scope and / or won't have to look through it to confirm it. This can be used in conjunction with night vision. Why We Like This:
- Optical clarity was excellent and light weight
- Lightweight, compact, great reticle, daylight bright illumination, and good looks
- Good eye relief, perfect for 223, etched reticle
Burris The look optic
Buy on Amazon
The burris the look optic is capable of outshining several other optic featured in this list in overall features for the price point. This is an exceptional piece of glass. Its a SFP (Second Focal Plane) optic, so hold-overs are accurate at only the max zoom. The glass is clear, with good coatings, and brightness is reasonable for a 24mm front objective. The 6x zoom has nice eye relief and isn't difficult to get a good sight picture. It can also be moved to any "time index" on the adjustment knob.
This is a great starter LPVO before you move up to high tier LPVOs like Kahles, Steiner, Nightforce, etc. The throw lever is removable. Why We Like This:
- Red dot stays bright enough to be seen in intense sunlight
- Durable, keeps zero, the etched reticle is awesome
- Nice quality scope and red dot combo
Trijicon The look optic
Why We Like This:
- Increased hit potential in all lighting conditions
- 4 x magnification with a 35mm objective lens
- Accurate crystal clear optic with a tremendous bright field of view
