It's a nice combination, and adds a level of "trickery" when writing a note with the pen over a secret message written in invisible ink. Each pen is an actual ballpoint pen on one end and then an invisible marker on the other and the UV light is on the cap of each one. The light is just an easy on/off slide switch in the cap.

The invisible ink goes on smoothly and is undetectable to the bare eye. The little switch is quite flimsy, so that stops working long before the bulb burns out. The light isn't obvious in the daylight, so they aren't annoying to others. They're cute too, so that's a bonus.
