It works well for a standard size garage or two car garage door. When you are twisting the springs to tension them its feels a bit sketchy but it does actually take approx 7 1/2 full turns. It goes on the RIGHT side of the center bracket. Each spring is clearly marked with the spring size, thickness and L/R indicators. The bar has to fit through but also as you tighten it the spring expands.

They have an equal amount of wear time on them so if one side is broken the other side will too. It will lift your door, make sure you turn each spring 7 turns.
