Tombow hard Tip Pen

Tombow makes beautiful and great pen with classic and smartly choosen materials. The hard tip has a nice, fine line that if you use (it the way Archer wants you to try it) just the tip, varies in thickness from 0.5mm to 1.0mm. The ink flow is fluid and consistent and responsive to your pressure. While the pen tip mostly retains its shape, giving you consistently thin strokes throughout its lifetime, the tip will eventually want to bend, which can lead to the tip flopping when changing directions.

The ink is not completely black and it bleeds just a little. The tips retain their shape and hold up well. The black one is a larger and softer. The main difference between the hard and soft is that the soft will result in bolder lines with much less effort.

It is easy to use but the ink doesn't flow as smooth as original black pens.

Why We Like This:
  • Details and counters are crisp, even at small x-heights
  • An essential for brush lettering enthusiasts
  • Good brand reputation

The tombow favorite brush pen should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. It is perfect pen to get started in calligraphy and handwriting. The tombow dual brush ( n15 black pen has a very good solid black color. It's a little flexible, but not excessively so, and has a nice feel in contact with paper. The dual sided aspect is nice, with a more flexible, thicker end and a shorter, stiffer, thinner end.

Especially for handwriting or brush lettering, it is bouncy and sharp and clean. The results of your hand lettering come out so beautiful. The pen is longer than average (18cm [7.5 in] rather than the 13-14 cm [5.5in] of most pens) and might not fit some cases or pockets. It's like using an old Crayola marker, it is out of ink. This is with periods of heavy use (including drafting and filling in plans for architectural school) and a year or two of non-use.

Why We Like This:
  • Makes it so much easier to add that calligraphy look
  • Great quality pen with a flexible tip
  • Delicate tip is perfect for adding details
  • Easy to learn and practice with
