The mini games also can be quite frustrating at the beginning, like guessing objects based on silhouettes, guessing super zoomed in objects. You can also play games from older systems like Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi, so it's easy to upgrade to a new system without losing your game library.

As an adult, the game does start to show its limited scope and tedious nature rather fast. It is nice that everything is vocalized. They can even fall in love with each other, even getting married and having a baby. The game is a lot of fun.

It's truly a friend life game. There are dog and cat "coupons" that you can give your miis and they can rent a dog or cat. It can like different clothes and foods, ask for a change of apartment interior, and sometimes have rather odd dreams among other things. It's fun to build your character and tweak your voice, height, eye shape, hairstyle etc., and unlike the sims, it does not require every single second of your life.

This game is very cheeky with plenty of Nintendo references. They do have activities you can join into and you can visit them anytime to see what the miis are doing. The list of rewards to choose from is small, and the progression loop becomes perfunctory very, very quickly. It's also fun to dress up and establish relationships and control who's going to date whom.
