If you're backpacking, or doing long day hikes, the Trails Illustrated map is absolutely essential because the USGS topographic maps are outdated. This map is part of the trails illustrated series covering many national parks. The designers have included depth soundings off shore, along with lots of disingenuous warnings not to use the map for navigation.
Your map choices are essentially this one, the National Park Service map, and USGS topos. This map also shows ( 1 ) group and individual campsites and ( 2 ) distances between trail junctions that accord with the nps signage. These are all sturdy and convenient.

National Geographic Maps offers a variety of map for personal choice and yet maintaining quality in all the variants. This map is good for general orientation. It highlights the area covered on the back of the map, which covers the Green Mountains for the most part. This map is good for general orientation, estimates, and trail head parking, but it lacks the detailed trail distances that many hikers would be seeking to help plan their routes.
