The craftmade traditional wired doorbell is specially designed for your daily usage and has all useful features. It's a nice old-fashioned doorbell where a little mallet strikes a tuned metal bar in a resonator tube. It responds to both front (two chimes) and rear (one chime) doors. It has a typical striker bar setup. The two tubes on the side do not generate the sound, which is provided by two plate resonators as found in many wired doorbells, but the tubes have an opening in their middle next to the plates which seems to add a nice long decay to the sound.

The tone bars are larger, hence the louder, deeper, longer-resonating tone, but the cover fits poorly by comparison and is made of the same plastic. The windings appear well done and generate enough of a magnetic field to produce the loud sound, but the bumper for one of the hammers is a glued-on piece of plastic foam. It is perfect replacement for the home's original doorbell.
