The rip fence is made to fit around a 27" table saw frame, which is standard for all hybrid, cabinet and cast iron contractor style saws. It is smooth sliding back and forth and locks straight. Theres a 1/8" metal pad attached to the bottom of the fence about 27 1/2" from the front rail. The aluminum sides have a belly in them lengthwise and up and down and are not parallel to each other.

The "front" of the saw is the part that is near your belly when you are using the saw. It is easy to adjust, and perfectly parallel to the blade when locked. You will need to drill holes in the cast iron but it is soft and easy to drill. The fence is big and sturdy.
