Different siphon gravel vacuum sizes are available to accommodate all aquariums. It works great on small tanks with minimal gravel. It is great for smaller tanks, but it's meant for tanks over 5 gallons as it can suck the water out very quickly. With the tank on a dresser and the bucket on the floor the suction is very strong making the rather small diameter 'gravel cleaning' part not really all that functional as the gravel gets sucked all the way into the tube etc. The "bucket clip" is a neat feature that keeps the hose from falling out.

It has a strong suction perfect on getting the gunk on the gravel out. It takes a few practice runs to learn how to get the siphon going, but the instructions provided are sufficient and accurate. It's challenging to use and not have water spill all over because the kinks make it more unmanageable.

The Quick Vac allows you to clean your tank without changing out water, which you will need to do eventually, but also without taking out all of your fish in order to avoid harming them. The suction power is strong enough to suspend the gravel then suck up the debris/sludge. It's great for quick spot cleaning not having to get out the bucket and hose out. It is ideal to remove any unwanted waste from your gravel or sand but to control all chemical levels a proper water change should be done at least once a week.
