This barn light is well built and throws out some light. It has a photo cell that turns on automatically as it gets dark, not motion detection. The heads of screws that attach the light bracket to the wall fit into the bolt for the tilt function and can tighten somewhat but not fully, however once mounted those screws will be in the wall. The mounting pole and bracket don't prevent the light from moving side to side without some shimming.
