Compared with other case in this category, the blue sea systems waterproof boat battery case has a convenient design. This is a great little disconnect switch. It allows switching between battery banks without power interruption. The switch body pulls out of the back case and can be rotated by 90degree increments to line up the opening with any of the four sides for wire access. The second switch (as shown in the photo on the right) is the on-off switch, which connects the solar panels to the charge controller. It is one-piece with break-out-sides, for easier installation.
There are (3) removable side plates that allow you to select which side or top or bottom are open to allow the wires to enter, this is not however watertight though the terminals themselves are pretty much sealed in plastic. The switch is turned off, the device will be sitting at the grounded potential.
Why We Like This:
Great heavy duty battery disconnect switch
Very versatile and works great for solar panels
Installs easily in a wide variety of ways and is built to last
Works fine to turn battery on and off in an outboard application
