The national geographic maps great map is suitable and reliable and fits well with your daily purpose. This is a great travel guide with many sights listed. It's perfect in combination with the AllTrails software or Trails Illustrated maps when you want an overview map and then more detailed maps of specific areas. The maps are the most visually pleasing while maintaining a high degree of detail and readability. Even if you have a gps it is fun to see the routes and geographical features.
The front & back cover is a transluscent pliable, heavy duty plastic which keeps all the pages inside protected. It is nice to have a backup visual from time to time. The scale means it lacks small roads, but good for finding your way to main roads.
