If you often find yourself scrambling for appropriate and satisfactory wedge, felled wood chopping wedge should be your first option for buying. The Filled Log Splitter wedge can have a lot of uses. It can take heavy hits from a 6 and 8 pound sledge and keep on going. This splitter does a real good job of turning those monster logs that the maul will just bounce off of into manageable pieces. The sharp point makes this wedge go into the wood super easily and it splits wood like crazy.
The design does force the wood to split in a few directions, and is an improvement over a simple wedge-type maul. It is good for a little old lady. This one requires a little work the old fashioned way but it’s reliable.
Why We Like This:
Solid wedge that splits firewood with relative ease

We would, of course, be remiss if we didn't mention redneck convent wood chopping wedge for daily purpose. It is much easier to "start" in a log with its small point as compared to a traditional splitting wedge. It offers premium products for the rugged, tough outdoors. The Diamond shaped cross section weakens logs at multiple angles and allows you to split the log in up to 4 directions which means splitting the log in a fraction of the time. This will allow you to crack off the edges of the log and work your way toward the middle.
It is a metal wood spitting wedge that is good for medium size dried wood. This thing definitely works coming from a beginner.
Why We Like This:
Wide, flat head provides more splitting power
Notches prevent the log from popping out when being split

The truper graden tool wood chopping wedge's superior materials makes sure that it ages well with use. If you hand split wood, this wedge is a must. This works wonderfully, and splits very large sections of trees. It is easy to get this one started in the wood. It's much better than other wedges of this type, perhaps because it taps down to a nice thin, sharp point. The tip is good and strong. This wedge is probably better as an alternative to using a maul/splitter for straight pieces. This is a very effective tool.

We would, of course, be remiss if we didn't mention collins wood chopping wedge for regular usage. Most of the time the pointy wedge is great on its own and helps get the job done when your splitting ax needs help, especially those big rounds. This wedge and an 8 lb sledge hammer work well splitting these very hard logs. It works great from any side of a log, and almost never kicks out. It is made of heavy duty material.
The point gets you into the log easily to start splitting it, where the flat wedge is tough to "start" and can bounce out more easily. This is a necessary tool for processing firewood, especially if you have some on the larger side. It's really good for splitting.
Why We Like This:
One of the easiest way to manually split wood
Definitely helped speed up the process of chopping wood
