If you often find yourself confused about convenient and suitable trackball, kensington x key l trac black trackball should be your first option for buying. Being someone who has used a mouse with their right hand despite being left handed, this mouse is great for transitioning over to your left hand. This trackball is a joy to use compared with a regular mouse, even a Wacom tablet with its mouse. It is smooth, accurate, ergonomic, and requires little desk space.
The scroll wheel is effortless and does not have the detent action that a mouse scroll wheel does, so no constant ratcheting sound/feel. It is great for everything from regular use, to intense graphics work and video editing, to even gaming. The left and right click feel really great and the included palm/wrist rest is a nice plus.
This trackball is a simple plug and play, although you can adjust some settings like mouse sensitivity, scrolling speed and the mouse click orientation.
Why We Like This:
Best and very usefull trackball mouse design
Scroll wheel is convenient, placement of buttons is rational, easy to clean
Great trackball, sturdy, and great for some with parkinson's

The xkeys x key l trac black trackball is the best suitable trackball on the market today. If you have large hands or like trackballs this is the one to get. The trackball is very smooth and precise. The new ball race itself is just plastic pegs, which change the feel of the trackball entirely, saps its nice inertia and adds a sort of gritty feeling. It uses rollers to hold and allow rolling of the trackball instead of the ball just sitting on 3 prongs that don't move in the case of the Kensington.
The enclosure is ergonomically designed to fit the contour of the hand which allows for no movement of your arm or wrist from side to side. If you take out two key caps then it will fit in the center of the contoured kinesis keyboard. The ball itself would make an excellent scroll wheel, and it can handle both vertical and horizontal scrolling. It is used to even have one with swimmy fish in it.
Why We Like This:
Works better than mapping the middle mouse button to activate scroll

The xkeys best trackball is satisfactory and appropriate and fits well with your daily usage. The ball on this trackball does not spin on its own. The buttons are a little bit superior with a firm tactile click. Buttons have a good click to them and have plenty of surface area to click upon. That button, as well as the trackball itself are buttery smooth.
There is some slight resistance that helps with the fine movements without causing that feeling of "stiction" where the friction of the bearings prevent the trackball from moving until enough force is applied. The ball rests on three rollers, as opposed to the bearings in the Expert.
Why We Like This:
You can scroll quickly through pages, or slow down for precision
Fantastic trackball, built like a tank, made in the usa
Large ball, smooth roll, large responsive buttons
Extremely accurate trackball that is very helpful for rsi issues
