For a low asking price, t-h marine 12 inch hydraulic jack plate has managed to overwhelm their customers by packing as many features as they could. This tough 3/8" thick aluminum bracket provides an inexpensive solution to mounting a long shaft outboard to a short transom. It absolutely does give you the rise and set back as advertised as long as you set both the plates and motor at the upmost positions. The further back and up the motor goes the more leverage it creates, and also changes the center of gravity making the transom sit lower on the water line.
This product is a solid piece of aluminium BUT the holes are only drilled to support 3 inches above the transom. It will hold up to a 200 hp. It's aluminum so drilling holes to fit isn't hard and there is plenty of metal to give you room to do so, especially for smaller outboards. These brackets allow you to raise the outboard in three different positions.I've found it beneficial and now the boat has the right set.Why We Like This:
