The chemical treatment for absorption slowing is IN the paper rather than ON the paper and it is cotton rag rather than wood pulp. It stays wetter longer than a 140lb paper would.

This one has very nice texture, but most importantly it's THICK. The block format prevents imperfections in the paper surface from having been touched, either in the factory or at the store. It eliminates the need to tape the paper down.
