Orion makes beautiful and great eyepiece with classic and smartly choosen materials. This eyepiece is perfect for hunting distant galaxies, planetary nebulae, and diffuse nebulae. The view is very clear even for looking at the moon for such a wide eyepiece. This lens would not be as attractive when looking at planets and other solar system objects. The larger 2 inch size gives comfortable, low power, high-contrast views of the night sky.

The eye relief is really great, unlike most eyepieces which tend to have terrible eye relief. The center 50% of the field is quite sharp, while the outer 50% has moderate, progressively worsening coma in a fast Newtonian.

If you're looking for one or a set of 2" eyepieces at low power for a 8" dobsonian, the q70 series will serve you well and won't break the bank. The globular in Hercules is pretty small and fuzzy, as is the Barbell Nebula. It is made of high index glass to deliver sharp, high contrast vistas. It will give a nice view of deep sky objects within the resolving power of the scope. The eye relief is excellent and comfortable to view for long periods of time.

The orion 10 mm eyepiece is the best desirable product on the market today. The 66 degree field of view is vastly superior to a regular Plossl eyepiece. It fits all newer scopes and also comes with orion scopes. It has a wider field of view than the plossls, and is easier to position your eye over the larger hole on the top. It is good for observing planets and moon at high power.

The wider field of view really helps when an object wanders off the edge of the image, you can usually find it again quickly without having to swap to a lower-power eyepiece. The clarity is astounding and crystal clear. This is a really nice eyepiece.

It is made with machined housings, fold-down rubber eyeguards, and barrels threaded for use with 2" orion eyepiece filters. It has a long eye relief for a person who wears glasses.
