The heathrow scientific slide holder box is right on the money and fits well with your daily usage. Durable ABS plastic boxes are available with either cork or foam lining. It is hard to see the embossing but it is there for numbering. It matches the boxes used on a hospital research histology lab, and the boxes are made to stack with little plastic extensions. The slides jiggle but each slide rests comfortably in their slot.
The cork bottom is also numbered and to the left of the cork is small embossed numbering (shown in picture from macro lens) hard to see the embossing but it is there for numbering. It looks huge in the picture so look at the measurements if you are wanting something big.
