The paper is a must have addition for your daily purpose. If you are going to paint "Plein aire" or whatever for finished work, blocks are the best. This is good paper for field work in water media. It is made for all kinds of media. The front of the pages allows for a little softening off and lifting, and wet in wet works moderately well. It is ideal for location sketching.

The size is great not too big but small enough to handle. If you want a SKETCHBOOK that can take 90% of a block's work, this is just very good paper that is probably pulp and probably has some kind of sizing.
