The Great Wave faceplate looks better on a white controller shell than a black controller shell. It is semi-slick, matte soft plastic. The texture isn't plasticy but almost like a thin film of rubber. It fits flush on all sides. It is a beautiful change up from a boring normal black without spending a ton of money.
