The celestron versatile eyepiece is capable of outshining several other products featured in this list in overall features in its price range. This eye piece is great for kids, too. It's just much easier to use this zoom lens and the optical quality is excellent. It is nice to be able to easily find planets and then zoom in on them, rather than switching out eye pieces. The moon view fills the entire lens of the eyepiece. It comes with a nice hard plastic protective case which is a big plus.

This is a great eyepiece, it offers great field of view and it can be used with a t-ring for astrophotography. The zoom feature is great, even if it comes at expense of a diminished AFOV. It's versatility and build quality are both pretty fantastic. It is great for zooming, and will not replace a good set of eyepieces.

This lens (Celestron X-Cel LX) is a bit up scale and really powerful for your scope, like putting rocket fuel in a Prius. Though it has a less fov, this eyepiece is awesome in every aspect. It's also a much superior eyepiece to what comes with the Travel Scope.

The X-Cel LX 12mm will give you 233x magnification with your scope, that's a nice middle range, not too high magnification or too low. The eye relief nearly demands the user hovers outside normal viewing proximity. It is threaded on the bottom for 1.25" filters. It's a bit big and heavy to use with a long barlow lens. It will make finding observing targets much easier.
